Sean Azul - International Wedding Photography bio picture

Welcome

I'm Sean and thanks for visiting my blog. Pull up a chair and look around. I'm a wedding photographer so I get to photograph people on the happiest day of their lives. Although I work out of the Palos Verdes Peninsula area South of Los Angeles, I've traveled coast to coast and even internationally making photographs.

My style of photography can best be described a mixture of artistic and photo-journalistic. I was a photographer for almost twenty years before turning my eye toward wedding photography, so I bring a wealth of experience from other types of photography into my work.

Take a few minutes to browse my Galleries. I look forward to hearing from you.

CAPTURED | Movie Poster Christmas Card

Dave and Gina are know throughout the US for their unique take on the traditional Christmas Card.

When my good friend David Rothwell asked me what I thought about his idea for a Christmas Card based on the one sheet from Ghost Rider I was a little skeptical, but I was up to the challenge from a creative standpoint.

Here’s the reference.

We shot the photos in Dave’ garage one night and within a few days, he showed me the finished product below. I’m not so skeptical so more and really like the finished product.

RED Scarlet - All I can say is “WOW”!

For the last few months I’ve been following the threads over at REDuser. Jim Jannard, the founder of RED (and Oakley) has been teasing about a new breakthrough DSLR/HD Cam hybrid that will forever change the industry.

Since I’ve been shooting fully digital for a few years, I’ve been wondering when manufacturers would dispence with outdated things like ISO/ASA and small sensors.

Jim has delivered on his promise. He has developed a completely modular system that will have still photographers and feature film directors using one form or another of his system.

Here are a few specs of the Scarlet S35.

  • Can accept Canon or Nikon (or RED) lenses
  • 30 Frames per second (for comparison, my current top of the line Nikon does 8)
  • 13.8 Megapixels

Some of the cameras have even more amazing specs. Head over to RED for more information

WEDDING | Riko and Bill

Bill met the love of his life about four years ago. Riko came into his life like a breath of fresh air and put new life into him and his entire family.

The wedding took place in the gorgeous Wafarer’s Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes.

Here’s the amazing architectural interior of the glass church.

I Love this shot of Riko. She was absolutely gorgeous in her dress from Mon Amie.

Riko

Bling! Take a look at that diamond. She must be doing something right!

You’ll never guess where this was taken. You’ll have to ask Bill, but it turned out great.

I couldn’t resist posting this shot of the bouquet next to the yummy cake.

And finally, we ran out to get a quick shot of the sunset from the tip of the Portofino Inn in Redondo Beach.

WEDDING | Albert and Diana

Hard for me to believe that I’ve know Albert for almost 10 years. I was one of the first in our little Bible study group to get married, and Albert was one of the last. But it was worth the wait.

We were a little unsure if Diana would stick around long enough for Albert to close the deal, but we’re happy she did. It was my pleasure to be there to document the day, especially after photographing two of her sister’s weddings earlier in the year.

Not sure why, but I loved this pattern from the gazebo roof at the South Coast Botanical Garden where they were married.

Here’s Albert looking like a Pinoy model.

And Diana, his Romanian bride.

They shared a nice laugh right after they ceremony. Her father, meaning to talk about them cleaving to one another, said he wanted to talk about cleavage.

And finally a nice romantic photo under a pergola in the rose garden.

CAPTURED | Vasquez Family

The amazing Vasquez Family came as a referral from good friend and frequent collaborator Mary Dann.

We started off with a couple of headshot type photos to get the children relaxed and comfortable with the camera.

Then headed to the Manhattan Beach Pier
