Like most fathers, I am constantly in awe of the things my seven-year-old son says and does, but this one really touched my heart.
My brother-in-law, Luis, has suffered from seizures since he was knocked unconscious in a high school football game ten or so years ago. The seizures are intermittent and unpredictable, causing stress to his wife and two toddlers.
My wife got the call yesterday and began to weep when she heard Luis had a seizure and was taken to the hospital.
James overheard the call and ran to hug and comfort his mother. When he was sure she was okay, he went to the office, printed the note below and stuck it on the refrigerator for all to read.
